People’s Playground voor Canal Company
Canal Company is one of the largest canal cruise companies in Amsterdam also known for their typical Amsterdam canal bikes. By improving their site, Canal Company wanted to create more awareness of their broad range of products and increase the advance ticket sales. After a few months of research, design and development, the new site was ready for launch. Online sales increased significant.
Task
The challenge was to re-organize the products and present the canals as an experience for the different type of visitors. Online sales should increase and indivuals or companies interested in group activities should find their way.
Other requirements were connecting with the ticketing system and the re-use of the content management system. Eventually the site should be available in at least three languages.

Results
Based on the interaction design, the great visual designs were created including persuasive pictures of the canals. After ‘the front-end coding of the templates’, back-end development and content delivery the site was launched right before the season. Online conversion increased.
